MY JOURNEY SO FAR
Having been orphaned and homeless as a teenager, and then self funded a Human Geography Degree and International Relations (Politics) Masters, it's fair to say, I got some life experience early on.
Qualifying as an Associate Chartered Accountant with a small, local practice gave me hands on experience. Becoming a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner (and coming joint top in the national exams) with City firms helped me understand the corporate world.
Setting up and running my own office, first as partner and then on my own, I have reviewed thousands of CV's, interviewed hundreds of candidates and hired (& fired) plenty of employees, from experienced and qualified individuals, to graduates, school leavers, and school drop outs. My focus was always finding and developing the potential, ultimately encouraging employees to move on to bigger and better things.
Brains, determination, bravery (stupidity?!) and a commitment to decency and integrity at any cost, ultimately allowed me to close my business and retire from the industry at the age of 39.
In addition to helping support and develop individuals with the employment and interview process, I spend my time delivering Community Meals, volunteering as Admin Officer for the local Sea Cadets unit, assisting with a local zero waste group, attending bootcamp, trying to do Pilates, supporting a Neuro Diverse pre teen and as servant to two spoilt cats.
